It’s Alive! EC Comics Returns
The impact of EC Comics cannot be understated, having inspired countless horror creators, including George A. Romero, Stephen King, and many, many more. After nearly 70 years since the last comic book from EC, as first reported by the NY Times, Oni Press has partnered with William M. Gaines Agent, Inc. to introduce new EC Comics! Starting this summer, EPITAPHS FROM THE ABYSS #1 and CRUEL UNIVERSE #1 will kickoff brand-new stories.
Oni’s curated line of EC titles – which will include at least two series on a monthly basis from July 2024 onward in the genres of horror, science fiction, fantasy, and more – will feature contributions from a rotating cast of high-profile comic book writers including myself.
Seventy years ago, EC Comics redefined what comics could be with shocking, confrontational and brilliantly crafted stories that challenged the existential issues at the center of American life. I’m beyond thrilled to help continue this legacy.
