Blacula, the star of the 1972 blaxploitation horror hit was an 18th-century African prince who asked Dracula for his help to end the slave trade. Instead, Dracula turned him into a vampire, killed his wife, and imprisoned him under his castle. Eventually, he awoke to star in two horror classics Blacula and Scream, Blacula, Scream in the ‘70s. But now his hunt continues in Blacula: Return of the King.

Vashti Harrison and I to headline Virtual “Summer Camp” for Creatives

If you’re a writer or artist looking to level up their skills, the Virtuous Con Summer Workshop Series is exactly what you need. Brought to you by Virtuous Con, the popular virtual comic book, fantasy, and sci-fi convention, this exclusive virtual program, scheduled to run from July 5 to July 30, 2023, will bring together an award-winning group of creators from fiction and graphic novels to work directly with students of all ages. The workshops will provide aspiring writers and artists a unique opportunity to learn from industry-leading talent and hone their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.

The 2023 series launches on July 5, 2023 with my workshop “Horror in Comics”.

Later that week on July 9,, the award-winning illustrator and writer Vashti Harrison (“Little Leaders”, “Hair Love”) will lead a “Techniques for Visual Storytelling” workshop. Harrison will also give away copies of her New York Times Best Seller “BIG” to early registrants.

Winning Time Season 2 is on the way!

“Winning Time” is a captivating dramatization that delves into the professional and personal lives of the iconic Los Angeles Lakers basketball teams in the 1980s. The first season primarily focuses on the 1979-1980 NBA season, showcasing the tenure of Jerry Buss as owner and the rookie year of the legendary Magic Johnson.

But we’re back for Season Two and there is a lot in store.

Dynasties aren’t built… They’re taken!

Season One of the show was the story of the team coming together and winning its first championship. We’ve always been interested in what comes after that though. In a traditional sports story the team comes together, wins, and then they walk off into the sunset.

But this series isn’t about one championship, it’s about a dynasty, and what comes after winning that first ring.

Season Two of “Winning Time” is slated to release on August 6th.

Adapting The Mandalorian has been a pure treat.  The series embodies all aspects of the Star Wars universe: the myth, the mystery, and the spectacle that made me fall in love with it so long ago. It’s an honor to be able to continue my work of adapting the hit series into a comic.
