Lots of Star Wars Coming This Summer!
Star Wars: Inquisitors
The Jedi cannot help who they are. Their compassion leaves a trail.
A new miniseries kicking off July 3 follows the Empire’s Jedi hunters as they narrow in on a new target: Tensu Run, a survivor of Order 66 looking to spread hope and rebuild the Jedi Order. He has won the attention of Darth Vader, who is determined to have Tensu killed at any cost. Check out Nick Bradshaw’s cover for issue #1, along with variants by Alex Maleev and the legendary Walt Simonson, in the gallery below.
Inquisitors, first introduced in Star Wars Rebels, have become a key component of Star Wars storytelling in the period between the prequel and original trilogies. Trained by Darth Vader, these Force wielders track and destroy Jedi across the galaxy in the name of the Empire, and have appeared in series, video games, and beyond.
It’s such an honor to be writing the very first Inquisitors solo story! I love this time period of Star Wars lore because it’s the one I grew up on — when Darth Vader and the Empire were imposing their will on the entire galaxy. Plus, I got to create an all-new legendary Jedi with Tensu Run! Truly the best of times!
This new hunt begins in July!
Ahsoka
Following hit comic book adaptations of Disney+ shows The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka will finally grace the comic page.
A fan-favorite character since her debut in the beloved Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series, Ahsoka Tano is now at the forefront of pop culture thanks to recent appearances in The Mandalorian and her self-titled series. Now, she hits comic stands in her first-ever solo comic book run this June.
STAR WARS: AHSOKA will deliver all the action and drama from the show as it follows Ahsoka’s galaxy-spanning quest to bring Grand Admiral Thrawn to justice. The saga also featured the villainous Morgan Elsbeth, introduced mysterious Force-users Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati and marked the live-action debuts of various characters from the Star Wars Rebels animated series, including Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. Relive all these thrilling moments and more in a brand-new way!
It’s been such a blast transforming the hit Disney + series into comic book format. Ahsoka is the essence of classic Star Wars: layered, complex and fun! I hope you guys enjoy this adaptation as much as the series it’s adapted from.
I’m being joined by artists Steven Cummings and Georges Jeanty, the team who masterfully helped adapt both seasons of The Mandalorian for Marvel Comics. Cummings and Jeanty will alternate on illustrating, with Cummings launching the series with issue #1.
